What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile. Invisalign® is the alternative more comfortable and more discrete option to creating a straighter smile compared to traditional orthodontic braces or veneers. The Invisalign® system uses a series of clear, rigid, precise custom fitting mouthguard-like removable ‘aligners’ to move your teeth over time and give you the great, healthy, balanced smile you’ve always wanted. Aligners fit snugly and are removed for eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth. Most people don’t even notice you're going through treatment!

Invisalign® can be used to successfully treat a wide range of issues from simple to complex including, crooked, crowded or spaced teeth. Over 1 million people have been treated so far with Invisalign® worldwide.

Invisalign® is made to fit your lifestyle, not restrict it! Invisalign® is clear and virtually invisible (even up close), so most people won’t even notice you’re straightening your teeth. The ability to remove the aligners is an advantage other orthodontic treatments don’t offer.

So start on the right track today, and find out how you can achieve the smile you’ve always wanted with Invisalign®.

How does Invisalign® work?

Your Invisalign® treatment consists of advanced computer technology (see below) to make a series of precise, custom made, nearly invisible and removable aligners. Each aligner is worn on the teeth for a period of two weeks and after the two week period the next aligner in the series is worn until the teeth are straight. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will be gently encouraged to move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position.

Each aligner is quite tight at the start of the two week period, but gradually becomes a little looser as the teeth move into the correct position.

Here’s the exciting bit- Invisalign® uses revolutionary advanced digital computer simulation technology to produce a virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck®). With this you’ll actually see the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of the treatment. This allows you to see upfront what your teeth are expected to look like at the end of the treatment. From the results of the ClinCheck®, your custom-made, clear aligners are produced especially for you.

If you're ready for a smile that transforms your appearance, Invisalign® is your answer.

Who provides Invisalign® at Kenilworth Dental Practice?

Our Principal dentist/owner Dr Arjun Kachhala has been providing Invisalign® treatment for some time and has seen at firsthand how fantastic the system is.

‘Seeing really is believing,’ says Arjun. ‘I’ve seen the amazing results of how a wonderful smile can be transformed from a set of crooked teeth... I’ve been so happy with the effects this has had on people’s lives, it really is satisfying to see when we achieve something together.’

Arjun possesses the pre-requisite skills to help with your needs. Arjun is Invisalign® accredited and undertakes many additional hours of continuing postgraduate education each year, mainly in cosmetic dental procedures. Amongst other organisations, Arjun is a proud full member of a select group-The British Academy of Cosmetic dentistry (BACD). To become a member, it requires undertaking 50 hours of further postgraduate development in the cosmetic dentistry field every two years. ‘I’m passionate about Invisalign®. Working together with patients and being creative to change smiles gives me a real buzz, so continual lifelong learning is crucial to stay on top of the latest development,’ says Arjun. ‘The technological advances in the general world around us are plain to see and dentistry is keeping abreast of these changes. Invisalign® offers a modern discrete solution to the old problem of crooked teeth.’

I’m ready to change my smile - What do I do next?

Getting started with treatment couldn't be easier. The path to a more beautiful smile is simple and starts right here.

We are Invisalign® Certified. Once you decide to improve your smile, the rest is easy.

Step 1: Free chat

Contact us and book in your free chat and evaluation with Dr. Arjun Kachhala via online form or by telephone on 01926 512 747.
The best way to learn what Invisalign® can do for you is to visit us-Arjun is an Invisalign® Certified Dentist. Arjun will discuss the issues you have with your teeth, evaluate your specific needs and explore what kind of results you’re hoping to achieve. He will determine the best treatment plan for you and if Invisalign® is suitable, you’ll be invited back for step 2.

Step 2: ‘Records’ appointment

If you then wish to proceed with Invisalign®, some additional photographs are required along with accurate imprints (impressions) of your upper and lower teeth and an x-ray; this will all be carried out at an initial 'records' appointment. The photographs, x-ray and impressions are then sent to the Invisalign® facility in California.

Here the impressions are scanned and from this they produce an advanced 3D computer simulation model of the way the teeth will move into the final acceptable positions (based on the instructions Arjun sends to them with the impressions). This unique amazing simulation technology is called the Clincheck®.

(A non refundable deposit is required at the records visit.)

Step 3: See your 3D simulation

If you decide to go ahead with Invisalign®, we will meet to view your personal Clincheck® 3D simulation approximately 4-6 weeks after the records appointment. This is the really exciting bit because you will actually be able to view the virtual 3D simulation of your teeth and how we expect them to progress into the correct position from start to finish.

The Clincheck® will tell us (amongst other thing) how many aligners you will need totally.

In addition, within a week of your Clincheck® viewing appointment, five different views of your Invisalign® Clincheck® simulation will be sent to you by email so you can view them at home and show off to your family and friends.

From the records to the Clincheck® simulation stage normally takes 4-6 weeks to enable Arjun to perfect the simulation. Considerable time is spent by Dr Kachhala liaising with the orthodontic consultants at Invisalign® HQ to ensure that your Clincheck® is modified and perfected sufficiently so that the end result is as predictable in reality as the simulation shows.

Your Documentation: At Kenilworth Dental Practice we pride ourselves on our comprehensive approach. So, around your Clincheck® viewing appointment, you will receive a detailed personalised treatment plan document (and consent form). This along with your personal appointment timetable details everything that you need to know. You will have the opportunity to read this at length and ask any questions at any time.

You will therefore be fully aware of everything before you begin your first aligner.

The aligners are not ordered until you have had an opportunity to view the Clincheck® and you have confirmed that you are happy to proceed. A further non-refundable deposit is required at this stage in order to secure the aligner order ready for manufacture and delivery to us.

Step 4: Invisalign® makes your aligners

Once you have viewed and approved the Clincheck®, confirmed the order and paid the deposit due at this stage we will order your aligners. Invisalign® uses the approved advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to transform your impressions into the custom-made series of clear and removable aligners.

Step 5: Kenilworth Dental Practice receive all your clear aligners

You will need to allow up to four more weeks to custom manufacture the aligners in the USA and arrive into Kenilworth ready to begin your treatment.

Step 6: You've finished treatment!

Congratulations! When you're finished wearing each clear aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have straighter teeth and the beautiful smile you deserve.
